In case you guys didn't know, I don't have an etsy store. But here I am writing a post on tips for starting an etsy store. Go figure. Thankfully, I had help from the experts. Go find these lovely ladies on etsy!

  1. Branding is so important- have a NAME, LOGO, BANNER, and TAGLINE.
  2. Have 10+ items in your store before opening. The more listings with diverse keywords the more hits your store will get overall.
  3. Be very descriptive in your descriptions.
  4. Use all the Tags allowed (this is very important for those searching via Etsy)
  5. Take good pictures. I love this article called "Etsy Product Photography the DIY Way." Check it out.
  6. The best size for etsy pictures is 1000w x 800h.
  7. Keep tabs on the statistics of your store. Etsy tells you what keywords and how they landed on your pages so it's good to pay attention to what searches are popular and throw in seasonal ones as well smile emoticon
  8. Get as many favorites as possible.
  9. It's good to have an external website (blog) linked to your etsy. The website should be yours, of course.
  10. Use social media to promote your products. Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook are great for Etsy.
  11. Visit Etsy pages and get inspired from the pros!
  12. Get free listings by having a friend refer you. If you contact an etsy store you like/know- they probably will get you free listings since they will get free listings, too!
Let me know if you have an etsy store or what you would sell on one if you did!
