I first heard about Origami Owl when I saw a vendor booth with all sorts of pretty little things at an event I was working at. My friend and I were working as cashiers at the event, so naturally we asked the lady for a catalog to pour over while we waited for customers. I just remembered how freakishly ADORABLE everything was.

I was surprised when, a few years later, I realized the multi-million dollar company was started by someone younger than me.

Origami Owl was started by Bella, then 14, when she decided she wanted a car for when she turned 16. Her parents told her she had to earn the money (typical, right?), so she started selling necklaces (source).

Now the amazing company has been featured on websites like Business Insider and Forbes, both applauding Origami Owl. They have expanded from just lockets to bracelets, watches, and even a men's collection. Needless to say, Bella was able to get her car. :)

Isn't that inspiring!?!? I love Bella's story! She made a goal. She worked hard. She met her goal. Watch her story here: (Side note- the first time I watched this, I cried. #ihavenoshame)

Also, Origami Owl has an owelette program- where teens can sell Origami Owl products themselves, if you're interested in that. You can find out more on their website.
So, business owners and potential business owners, teentrepreneurs and potential teentrepreneurs, what's your goal for 2016? Honestly, mine is to be able to make good boundaries. Sometimes it's hard for me to say no, so that's one thing I want to work on. Let me know if you have any goals- business related or otherwise- for 2016.

Let's make it great together.
