Dear little entrepreneur,

I'm so glad I got to meet you. I'm so glad you asked questions and are trying to start your own business. You are on fire. I'm so glad people are becoming entrepreneurs and I'm honored that you asked for my advice.

I wish I could tell you everything. I wish I could download the mistakes and successes I've had onto a usb and plug it into your brain so that you can just breeze through all the messy stuff and become a success write away. I wish I could tell you all the things I wish I knew when I started my first business.

I wish that you wouldn't have to learn your lessons the hard way. I wish that I could tell you that people won't try to take advantage of you because everyone is basically good deep down inside. I wish I could warn you that it's going to be freaking hard work to start your business. Freakishly hard at some points.

I wish that you would become an instant success. That you would find clients who adored you and who you adored. I wish that your success would help you love entrepreneurship as much as I do. Because I truly do love entrepreneurship.

Dear little entrepreneur, you have such wide eyes. So many ideas and so many dreams, I wish they would all come true.

But if I told you everything, you wouldn't value it. I'm sorry, but you may have to learn some hard lessons. You may realize that your ideas are not all that great and people aren't all that eager to help you succeed. You may realize that working hard is hard.

You might find out that I gave you some bad advice. Maybe not intentionally, but maybe some things I-- and other people trying to help-- say won't work for you.

You may realize that you don't like entrepreneurship.

But I said it before and I'll say it again. You are on fire. You have the world at your fingertips and I'm so glad you're pursuing entrepreneurship. You may fail. Actually, I would be really surprised if you didn't fail. But that's okay. We all have our epic fail moments.

Never stop dreaming up ideas. Maybe this one won't succeed, but maybe the next one, or the next one after that, will. Dream on.

Keep your eyes wide. Keep your heart open. Don't be afraid to be humble and ask for help.

Because truly, little entrepreneur, you rock.

Rock on, entrepreneurs everywhere.
